Anna’s Horses

Dancing for Gold

Dan‘ is an 18hh Trakehner 10 year old Bay gelding

Anna has owned Dan for just over a year and he has previously show jumped to a high level. He has turned his hoof to dressage and together they have formed a strong partnership. The future for them is bright. This year Anna and Dan have gone to a few Para qualifiers, Silver Winter and Summer Championships, SW Inter county Challenge and have also competed for GB in a 2* International.

UKOON

Perri‘ is an 18.1 KWPN 17 year old Bay gelding.

Perri is the newest addition to the family having been on loan to Anna since November 2017. Previously Perri was turned away with a herd as his owner had passed away. Having lost the main man Darcy Anna’s vet put her in touch with Perri’s foster home and before long he had joined the clan. Perri was unfit and needed bringing back in to work. Anna has worked hard to get his fitness up and they are starting to go out and introduce Perri to the big wide Dressage world. Perri is a cheeky chap who loves his food and is enjoying being back in ridden work, at 18.1 it’s a long way down.

Priceless

Mr Darcy‘ was a 17.2 Hanoverian 16 year old Chestnut gelding.

Unfortunately Anna recently lost her older boy Priceless or ‘Mr Darcy’ to his friends. Anna owned Darcy for nearly 3 years and he was the horse of a lifetime! They were the best of friends, he was so consistent in his scores always hitting above 70% and Anna will never forget when they achieved three 10s in one test!! Darcy loved his job and used to run into the lorry when it was time to go away to a pony party. Anna believes that she wouldn’t be half the rider she is today without the help of him. RIP Mr Darcy you were totally ‘Priceless’.

Trefeinon crocus

Molly‘ is a 15.1 Welsh x 23 year old Bay Mare.

Molly was an all rounder that Anna bought from her coach at the time. Molly started Anna’s para career by being her mount for the Inter County Challenge when Anna was 1st asked to compete for Somerset. Molly then took Anna to the Summer and Winter nationals and accompanied Anna to the home international where they competed for England. Molly was a sane and sensible mare that managed to rocket Anna’s confidence in the arena and give her more of a determination to progress. When the pair weren’t out competing Molly enjoyed time at grass eating as much as possible.

Tango

Woody‘ is a 16.2 Hanoverian x Thoroughbred 20 year old Chestnut Mare.

Woody has been with Anna for 10 years now. Previously, Woody was a hunt-masters horse and has taken Anna through all pony club activities, although this was often accompanied by falls. Woody and Anna went to RDA nationals and lets just say she didn’t fancy turning her hoof to dressage. Woody is still part of the team but is now out on loan to a friend and is enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle and as much grass as she can get.
